Enjoy the Silence

I can't talk. Quite literally. Yesterday I could talk just fine, it was trying to swallow things like food that was an adventure. Now? Speaking is no longer something I do. I've gotten so frustrated by this (on the few occasions that I feel well enough to BE frustrated) that it's driven me online to AIM (where I haven't been in eons, let me tell you) just for the opportunity to express myself in some manner. Urgh.
So yeah. The worst throat pain freaking ever in the past 10 years or so has left me mute and on a forced diet. Looks like
teany's suggestion of a juice fast was not out of line, it's about all I can get down at this point. Arrrgh. I feel fine when I'm sitting (or laying) still, and begin to labor under the misapprehension that I feel better, so I try to move at normal Sharon speed. This generally causes problems, like those bright spots you get in front of your eyes when you get reaaaallllllly dizzy. Urgh. I'm on antibiotics (yay for my doctor's belief of preventative prescriptions) but am debating seeing him tomorrow anyway to see if I need to get my throat removed or anything like that. :P
But I still managed to drag my sorry, sick ass out to Evan's last night for a most excellent party. Very low key, cool people, great time was had. Never mind that I felt like Samantha in "Plus One is the Loneliest Number," where she comes to Carrie's book launch party DESPITE having her face wrecked by a chemical peel. I went, doped up on plenty of aspirin and my new God, chloraseptic. Met some really cool friends of Evan's (I swear, that guy is just a magnet for fun and interesting people), including another fan of Great Big Sea that insists that they're coming back in April (anyone confirm/deny this?). This guy is pretty neat, he runs a sci-fi book club with some other people that I met at the party and the group of them seemed pretty awesome, so he's supposed to call me with more details, like what book they're reading.
Theresa drove us home in the rain last night (yay for her) because she was staying over at our place for the night, as she had some things going on somewhere on Staten Island today, and it didn't make sense for her to go all the way back out to suffolk to turn around. She didn't stay inside my germ farm of a room, though, which I thought was a wise move. I couldn't go to belly dancing *sigh*, and I doubt that I'm going to work tomorrow, either. It's just me, my silence, and some dvds. Not sure what I'm going to watch - I have Annie Hall and Liberty Heights from Netflix, plus all sorts of new films that you lovely people bought me for my birthday that I haven't watched yet.
Speaking of which -
saava screencapped The Last Unicorn !! Go, look, enjoy!
I'm going to head downstairs, see what my mom is cooking (I'm hungry!!) and get ready to watch Inside the Actor's Studio.

Well, they will be coming through the Tri-State area again in early April, but I don't know if I'd really say they're coming back.
According to the itinerary on their web site, they're playing Toad's Place in New Haven, CT on Sunday, April 4th.
Admittedly, I find the show a bit tempting, though making it to work Monday morning would require a great amount of effort. I could probably just call out, but I'm already taking off Thursday of that week for Opening Day.
