This is why I read Gawker!
To quote their excellent writeup:
"More on our new hero, Richard Simmons: the man that Simmons smacked down at the Phoenix airport was in fact a 23-year-old, 6'1", 255-pound Harley Davidson salesman. After the Harley Davidson salesman mocked Simmons, the fitness guru replied "It's not nice to make fun of people with issues." Hot!"
