Restaurant Week, Vegas style.

Last night was another episode in the adventures of
Blergmeister and
Shazzykins. When our plans to try and hit up Applewood were dashed, we instead decided to pay the 12th Street Bar & Grill a visit, and what a good decision that was. We sat in the bar for ages, no one hassled us, and we had a lovely meal. I had curry mussels (amazing. I will have these again), papardelle with cherry tomatoes, pancetta and beans (so-so), and a lovely panacotta with blood orange sauce for dessert. And some lovely, lovely Sauvignon Blanc (one of my very favorite whites).
In our travels, we also saw possible the greatest (and by greatest I mean potentially tasteless and slightly wrong yet oh so right) Easter decoration ever in someone's front yard. It's on 11th street between 6th &7th avenue. Pictures will be taken, though. Oh yes, they will.
Any time spent with her is an excellent time, but possibly the best part of the night came when I told her that you can get married by Liberace in Las Vegas. We even watched a couple of the webcasts! Tom Jones is also an option, but while the Liberace one was delightfully campy, the Tom Jones one was kinda uncomfortable (which sucks, because a Tom Jones wedding would be awesome in theory). I was also disappointed to discover that their "Highlander" theme wedding was merely a Scottish ceremony. Not that I have anything against Scots at all, but how awesome would it be to be married by Duncan or Connor MacLeod of the Clan MacLeod? "May you live together for eternity - unless someone chops your head off."
No plans for tonight. Not necessarily a bad thing either - this weekend is full of activity: parties, brunches, restaurant week dinners, oh my! Snuggling up on my couch with some dvr'd shows and/or a movie is looking really good right now, but you never know where the day will go.
And finally, from the My Boss is Cooler than Your Boss file:
Boss T is quite enamored of Pandora.com. He's set up a few stations for himself and seems to be enjoying it. (Although I had to find out from him that there's no classical music on there, despite my statements (and belief) to the contrary. How embarrassing!).
While it's extremely cool that I heard Van Morrison coming out of his office when I got in this morning, even cooler was this statement:
"I set up a Captain Beefheart and the Magic band station for myself. I can't believe they had them on file, but there's no way I could listen to that at work!"
Dude. My boss likes Captain Beefheart. I so win.

Which was funny enough. But then Jeff turns to me and says.
"Ah fuck. I knew I should have brought my sword."
