DH: Question

I know I made a big stink about no longer watching Desperate Housewives some time ago, but after my mother's insistence that things had gotten better writing wise (mostly true), I started tuning in again. And it did get somewhat better, but there's something that's been bugging me. (And it's not even related to Susan! Shocker!! )



What the hell is with this war between Felicia and Paul Young? Yes, I get that Paul killed Martha, Felicia's sister and basically got away with it. Ordinarily, I'd be on board with that.

However, I remember something Felicia said last season (I checked, this was in Episode 1x11, "Move On") that totally negates her current behavior:

Edie: "You know, I can only imagine how worried you must be."
Felicia: "I'm not worried, Edie. Martha and I had a very intense bond. We were connected at the most primal level, and a few days ago, I felt this sensation in my soul. That's when it first dawned on me that something had happened to my sister. And when she didn't arrive at my home as scheduled, well, that's when I knew she was dead."
Edie: "Oh, honey, no! You mustn't think like that! Martha's only missing!"
Felicia: "No, Edie, she's dead. But she's my sister, and I'm going to find out exactly what happened to her."
Edie: "Look, Felicia, it's natural to freak out when a loved one is missing."
Felicia: "Loved one? Oh, Edie, let me be clear about this. I hated Martha. She was a wretched pig of a woman and the day she died, this world became a better place."

So, what the fuck? I mean, I could understand her being pissed off at Zack for the whole pushing her down the stairs and trying to kill her thing, but why the vendetta against Paul? Why does she care all of a sudden? You'd think that with her feelings contained in the quote above, she'd have sent Paul a fruit basket, baked him something, or at least given her some flowers from her yard.

Am I missing something here?

Personally, I'm thinking she's just plain psychotic. I mean, at the very least, a sane woman would've chopped off the LAST two fingers. Even on the left hand, having an index finger is rather useful...

A blood bond is stronger than a love bond i guess. Or it just makes for good television.

I stopped watching DH for a while too...but i've managed to catch a bit of the last few eps...it has gotten better!

I think she's supposed to get a reward of some kind from Zach's grandfather if she can deliver the kid to him. In order to do that she needs to get Paul out of the way first ...

Better explanation. Felicia got a letter sent to her from her sister telling her eveything about what was going on next door with Paul and Mary Alice. How they kidnapped the baby and what not then killed the baby's mother and put her in the toy box and stuck the toybox in the pool. That was Martha's insurance policy. So basically Felicia's known the skinny as to what's going on. Zach's biological grandfather is looking for him because he's the last remaining link to his daughter, Mike Delfino's drug addict girlfriend that he went to jail for. In any case Zach's grandfather has terminal cancer and doesn't have all that long to live. In one of the episodes Felicia was his live in nurse. Zach's grandfather is looking to pay handsomely to spend time with his grandson. Paul doesn't want this to happen for obvious reasons - Zach's grandfather is looking to have him die because he killed his daughter. In any case with Paul out of the way Zach can be with his grandfather and Felicia can get the reward money as well as moral compensation for her sister's death.

Wow after typing that all out this sounds way complicated ...
