The slowest week of the year.

Happy Birthday to unsimilar!! More than just my favorite resident of Bay Ridge (not that it's a long list or anything), but also one of the sweetest, most creative and generally coolest guys I know. Hope you're having a blast, sweetie!

This week has been slow. Painfully slow. I think that if I didn't sit right next to my boss's door, I could nip out and see Dreamgirls or The Good German (both playing very close by) and no one would notice. Seriously.

So, what's a girl to do?

I updated Teacup.

I've been reading this really awesome site. Among other things, it gathers litblogs into one place for easy reading. Thanks to Galleycat, I have even more daily reading material.

(also, can I mention how very much I love del.icio.us? Sometimes I think I learn a new, valuable trick every time one of my computers explodes. I can't believe I resisted this for so long. It's brilliant. )

In other news, I think I have to upgrade to a bigger text message plan. Since the whole world has started texting, my monthly amount doesn't seem to be hacking it anymore!

I like your teacup entry about academic writing workshops. I've done the same thing -- gone into every one of them wide-eyed and eager, then left them frustrated and, during the last couple I took in grad school, having made at least one or two enemies. Clarion, at least, should be a breath of fresh air compared to academia, since we'll be working with writers with at least some degree of commercial success.
