Things are okay so far. A good bit of the outstanding things were taken care of in my absence, so there's not much to be worried about.

That's not the important bit, though.

In approximately 1 hour and 34 minutes, I will be heading to Lexington and 46th. Why there? Because that's where Midtown Comics is. And WHY, pray tell, am I going there?

BECAUSE BUFFY SEASON 8 COMES OUT TODAY!

(and I want to go to the gym after work, so comics at lunch, natch.) So very, very exciting.

In other news of fangirl squee:

1. New Bones tonight! New Supernatural, Ugly Betty, and Grey's tomorrow!

2. I just recently discovered The Dresden Files, and I'm adoring it. Firstly, Paul Blackthorne, who plays wizard-for-hire protagonist Harry Dresden, is like Jeffrey Dean Morgan's smartass younger brother. Secondly, the premise is great (he's sort of like a private investigator for hire who also works with the cops, what is basically the Ministry of Magic, and has an AD in the Yellow pages). He has a ghost for an assistant, who lives in a skull. It's smart, funny, easy to pick up from the middle, and available online. Otherwise, it's on the Sci-fi channel at a time that won't conflict with Battlestar or really anything else worth watching (there's nothing good on Sundays at 9 anyway). I have the first 6 eps on my ipod, and I saw #7 on Sunday, which spurred this obsession. Not sure how long the season is (may only be 12 eps, hopefully more), but check it out. (Which reminds me. Must catch up on Eureka before the new season.)

It's going to be nearly 70 today. Hooray spring!

Holla at your girl and I'll meet you there.

Rawk. How much lead time will you need? I figure my walk will take me about 10-15 mins.

Should I bring my food with me? We can sit on one of those stair-things on Park like I've seen other people do.

I'll need about five minutes--it's right across the street from my office.

Re: food...depends. What time are you going?

I was going to go somewhere between 12 and 12:30. I know that's a mighty big window, but you never know how things are going to go around here. People like to call me and ask for things at 12. I have no idea why. :P

Yeah, people are dumb.

If today's lunch has arrived, I'll make a plate and we'll eat together. I'll let you know when you call.

Ah! Right! I'd forgotten about that! ::headslap::

No worries then. I just wanted to make sure it wasn't us meeting up and being all "ohnoes! we should have brought our foodstuffs and eaten OUTSIDE!"

Oooo, The Dresden Files. I like the show, but LOVED the books. I like the show even more when I can accept it as Alternate Alternate Universe, because the character mishmoshes hurt my head otherwise.

I hadn't heard of the books until your mention of them - but I may have to check them out. I know that my dad tried to read the novel that season 1 of Dexter was based on and he thought that the show was waaay better. (But, my friend who'd read the books first liked them better, so there ya go.)

Did you get the Buffy?? I'm so confused... some sites seem to be saying it was coming out today, some a week from today. :(

I did! It's out! I can't speak for other comic shops, but the Midtown Comics on Lex & 46th had loads of copies.

Next issue is April 4. Mark your calendar!

Grrr... I have it on pre-order from TFAW, but, I'm tempted to just go get it anyway! (especially since that's, oh, a block from my office!)

You can subscribe to comics and they'll automatically send them to you when they're available... of course, it may be better in theory than practice... you already have your Buffy and I don't. :P

And yes, Dresden Files. :)

Did you read it? What did you think?

I wanted to make sure - if you weren't already watching Dresden, you needed to be. I had a feeling you would like it.

Oh, yes, I've been watching (I'm a few eps behind, but I was right there for the pilot. And got a signed copy of the first book at comic con, and saw Paul Blackthorne to boot. At a distance ::sigh:: He's very TALL. And did I mention, tall.)

Haven't had time to finish the book -- reading too many other things at once -- but I am liking both book and TV series (which apparently I'm not supposed to do, since the tv show is quite different).

I am SO lovin' this spring weather, even though the snowboarder in me is pissed!!

Well, has your inner snowboarder checked the weekend forecast?

Dude, we got SO much snow here!! However, we have the kids, and they don't snowboard. They hardly leave their rooms. *SIGH*

Count me in as a Dresden fan. Paul Blackthorne was also in Lagaan, a hindi movie that was nominated for an Oscar. Great, great, movie. He was the villain in that one though, and he's much cuter here. :-)

Oh, he's seriously fine in this, that's for sure. He's apparently been "that guy" on a few shows in my periphery, and a guest star on "Medium," too. Lagaan seems interesting from the IMDB description - may have to ad that to the netflix queue.
