Allman Brothers highlights, before I fall into bed:

A whole bunch of covers, including "It Stoned Me" and "Into the Mystic" (Originally by Van Morrison), "Dreams to Remember" (Otis Redding) and! "The Night they Drove Old Dixie Down" - which was my favorite cover of the night.

Special appearance by Southside Johnny and the Juke Horns. The Juke Horns are what make up 5/7ths of the Max Weinberg 7 on Conan. So I got to see La Bamba play live. Aren't you jealous? Great contributions to the jam sessions, too.

The biggest highlight? Two words: Midnight. Rider. (they also played Jessica, of course. I was also hoping for "One Way Out," but alas, I was denied again.)

One of the only slightly disappointing things was that Greg Allman didn't sing very much. Warren Haynes did most of it (he's got a good voice, though). I'm not sure why, Greg sang a few earlier on and then didn't really sing much after that. Maybe his throat was bugging him. Ah well. It was still a completely awesome show.

And now? I sleep. And I don't have to be up in five hours either! (neener)

I have a friend named [livejournal.com profile] bluesgirly who works along with Gregg Allman's new band, she and I were discussing it today on AIM. She also notified me that if I wanted she could get me tickets to shows. I remembered this post and thought I would offer up the video she sent me also with an invite to share tickets should I ever get any.
