Edward Norton as the Hulk?! I'm not really sure what I think of that, except that he's also planning to write/direct Motherless Brooklyn, and films don't get made on charm and intent alone - they need money. And while I'm sure he'll have some support from BOB YARI (don't even bother, that's only funny to me &
leopard_lady) , if he wants any kind of real budget for this thing, he's gonna have to work hard for the money. (So hard for it, honey.)
IMDB is also suggesting that Sam Rami may do The Hobbit. Interesting.
Light, frothy bits aside, I'm not even sure what I can say about Virginia Tech. I watched some of Anderson Cooper 360 last night (sadly sans AC himself) and I was just heartbroken over this. It's just so horrible and senseless. I was also furious at the bungling on the administration's part. I can understand not wanting to cause a panic, but after the first shooting that campus should have been locked down so tightly it would make the Pentagon look like a 24-hour Wal Mart. But, then again, I'm just playing armchair cop again - I wasn't there, I don't know how it looked or why they did what they did. It doesn't change what did happen, unfortunately.
As usual,
hermionesviolin has some great links to some thoughtful commentary about the tragedy, particularly interesting was
kita0610's comment about how it's not just the guns that are a problem, it's the terrible state of psychiatric care in this country. It's not a very long entry, but it does give some things to ponder.
And now, work.
