Dear Dresden Files Ficwriter:

So, you've written 25 Harry/Murphy drabbles inspired by 25 different songs. I'll stifle my initial eyeroll and say bully for you, as I have not read them, as I am not up to date on the books yet, and I don't want myself spoiled for that Universe (which is very different from the TV 'verse), and you never know, they might be decent. And I'm down with Harry/Murphy, obviously. But for the love of Bob and all that is holy, could you PRETTY PLEASE stop spamming the community whenever you finish another drabble? If they're a series, gather them into 2-3 posts (or hey! even ONE) when they're all done. See how easy that is? See how people are now willing to give you more nice feedback when they're not being drabble-bombed? It's amazing, no?

Kisses,
Me.

Also, has anyone else read Buffy: Season 8 #3 yet? I did at lunch and I'm DYING to discuss. Further on the comic bend, I remarked to [livejournal.com profile] antheia this morning that I've gone from "I've read some graphic novels and enjoyed them" to "OMG Is it Wednesday yet?" in the space of a few short months. AND IT'S ALL JOSS WHEDON'S FAULT. AND KRIPKE HELPED. Today, on my trip to Midtown Comics, I purchased the aforementioned, as well as Supernatural: Origins #1 and X-Men: Runaways #26, which starts Joss's storyline for that series. I'd been meaning to pick up Runaways since [livejournal.com profile] ozzdo mentioned it awhile back, but this seems like a decent enough entry point. And if I really like it, I may just go pick up at TPB. I also got clued into another comic that sounds pretty awesome, the Fables series. Has anyone here read? Any thoughts? I'm contemplating picking up the first TPB of that to see what I think of it.

It's a disease, I'm telling you. There's no telling what will happen after Free Comic Day on Saturday. ::nerdy::

Fables is WONNERFUL. You will love it.

Also, stay the hell away from Sandman or you'll be lost to the deliciousness that is the TPBs.

Honey, Sandman was my comic gateway drug after the Archie years. I own the entire set, love it to bits, and credit it as being the spearhead of my Gaiman obsession. :)

SO, if you're saying if I loved Sandman I'd like Fables, too, then I'm even more ready to hunt this puppy down.

Well then, there we go. I was hoping you weren't that new to comics, but I didn't wanna say anything. ;-)

You'll LURVE Fables. It is very, very awesome.

One of my favourites is where Prince Charming's exes get together over lunch to talk about him...

Oh, the Geek is strong with this one, trust me. I've also read and loved The Watchmen, V for Vendetta (before the movie, thanks!), and books 1-4 of the Mass Market Paperback Collections of Terry Moore's Strangers in Paradise (total crack. total.) I've been meaning to read League of Extroadinary Gentlemen and The Dark Knight Returns as well, but...haven't.

But Fables is On the List. Along with the TPB of Runaways.

You'll quite like LXG - especially if you get the hardbacks, Vol. 1 & 2. The additional back matter in Vol. 2 is actually the best thing in the whole damn series.

In the "snarky and fun," look for Courtney Crumrin and the Night Things. They're the little manga-size TPBs and they're FABULOUS - hugely detailed art, twisty little storylines, very cute and VERY snarky. They're meant for the manga-type reader, but they're actually well written and entertaining. I love 'em.

I'm getting my Buffy #3 in the mail as I type this response, so I'll have my comments on it by next week.

Enjoy your lunch at Sophie's. I love that place. We always order in, so that we can get more portions.

Excellent! I look forward to reading them.

Any reccomendations? So far, I plan on getting what the guy in Midtown Lunch ordered (pernil, maudros, and moros), but if Matt wants to split a side order of sweet plantains, I'll get the rice & black beans.

I always get the pernil with the black beans and rice. The chicken's not so bad, but if you're going to eat Cuban, then go for the traditional meal.
