Ah, youthful exuberance, complete with fists in the air, and heads in the sand. Dedicated to fighting the evol powers that might hold us back and keep us down. You've got to fight the man, man! *sigh*

Anyway, like my friend [livejournal.com profile] fragbert and a few others on my friends list, I'm going to take a page out of PCU and I'm not gonna protest. After all, as anyone who knows even the slightest bit about servers (like me), knows that a one-day drop in traffic is not going to send anyone scurrying. Not only that, but today is Good Friday and Purim. Any drop in traffic will be attributed to a MAJOR HOLIDAY WEEKEND. Durrr.

Anyway, I've thought that LJ has had a few moments of fail recently (both major and minor), but as I learned at an early age, tantrums really accomplish nothing. So, no strike for me. I really love livejournal. It's been a wonderful thing in my life - it's led me to some of my very best friends - people I could literally not imagine my life without. It's allowed me a chance to explore parts of my brain and life through writing, and mostly? It's just been a lot of fun. I'm not about to take my ball and go home because a few minor things that don't even affect me might change. After all, if you have gmail and dont' mind the ads there, but are on strike today because of the targeted ads in LJ? You're an idiot. I'm sorry, but you are.

Weekend appears promising. I get out early today and there will be fun things occurring. I just have to get through the next few hours. I will post if I have an opportunity. And now, to finally vanquish the copyright demon.

You know what really annoys me about this "protest": Correct me if I'm wrong, but the targeted ads don't apply to friends-only posts, right? Well, if LJers really want to circumvent the targeted ads, they should make their journals friends-only. If not, well they have no right to claim that the targeted ads are a "violation of privacy" when they are writing all about their lives on the f-ing internets.
