offbalance | It's gonna be a weird one

So I'm on the subway this morning, and there's a girl in front of me listening to her ipod shuffle. It's one of the new, smaller, square ones. Now, this in and of itself would not be at all notable, except for the fact that she was wearing said ipod shuffle IN HER HAIR. Um, what? If I could have gotten a surreptitious camera phone picture, I so would have, but there was no way. Am I out of touch? Is this how the kids are doing it these days?

Then, after I got off at Rockefeller Center, I walked through the plaza and saw a dude dressed as a banana. It was much less weird, because Mr. Banana and his friend were both A)On their way to where The Today Show tapes, B) singing "It's peanut butter jelly time," and C) Both looked barely 18. It would have been funnier if Family Guy hadn't done it first, guys. Now, if you and a bunch of friends got dressed up to do the hamster dance? That would have really been something impressive.

Still, none of that really matters, because to day is ~~Rex Manning~~ ALTON BROWN DAY!!!!!

Do I seem excited? I hope so, 'cause I am.
