Wow. So it seems like I haven't updated in awhile.

Last couple of weeks have been a whirlwind. There've been parties, and time with friends, and work nonsense, and some painful Yankee losses. *sigh* But there were a few things of note.

*Yesterday [livejournal.com profile] blergeatkitty and I tried out for a trivia-oriented game show that inquires whether or not you would like to be in possession of a very large sum of money. Blerg did well on the test, I did not. I was extremely happy for her, as she is awesome and smart and deserves it, though I'd be lying if I said I wasn't bummed at all about not getting in myself. So I thought it over last night and decided to sign up to try out again, because I can. And, as it turns out? They're having a "Movie Trivia Week" coming up, that I signed up for. More as it develops. But this is not the last they've heard of me, by far. It will be mine, oh yes.

*On Monday I got to see Iron Man. To say the movie was awesome was really a gross understatement. It was, in every possible way. I've not had as satisfying a movie going experience in ages, and that's not just because I saw it at the Ziegfeld. The writing, the acting, the effects and the action were all top-notch. (Message to [livejournal.com profile] dotfic: I love the idea of your Tony/Pepper drabble-thon, and I'm working on an idea or two). If you haven't seen it, I am really unsure as to why. If you have and want to discuss, I'm hereby warning that the comments are a spoiler area.

*Speaking of spoilers, I finally got to watch Gossip Girl last night. To quote their ad campaign: OMFG.

I totally called that they killed somebody. It was the only truly shocking thing that makes sense. And next week, Serena is going to go off the wagon hard, which is promising. But this week was great, and I really can't love Blair even more. I need many Blair icons. I also thought the "outing" of the brother by the Evil Georgina (so glad I can openly hate Michelle Trachtenberg) was well-written, from the mom's initial shock to eventual apology and acceptance. I also didn't think Jenny's rise and fall would take place over the course of one episode, but that may just be a casualty of the writer's strike. I think it's a nice twist that she knew, that the "nice rich boy" that she met wasn't actually so nice, and the whole thing fell apart in a marvelously public way.

Oh, crack show. I love you so.

*Tonight [livejournal.com profile] redesigner is taking me out to dinner at Maze by Gordon Ramsay at the London. I was one of the beta readers on his thesis, and he suggested this as a way to show his thanks (I do love how he thinks). I'm very excited.

And it's Thursday. You know the one good thing about Thursday? The day that comes after it. Well, that and Ugly Betty and Supernatural, of course.
