We all had SUCH a good time last night for Laura's birthday. And if you weren't there, you really shoulda been, because you missed a hell of a time. ;)

But yes. Whomever was the idiot that says that Vodka doesn't give you a hangover does have a clue what they're talking about. Because Vodka DOES give hangovers. And it gets you (or me, to be even more specific) drunk REALLY quickly. And not just tipsy 'whee!' kinda drunk. The kind of drunk where you blurt out whatever comes to mind. (although 'whee!' always seems to be a factor with me. always.)

Seem to have held on to my status as The Cute Drunk. Which I suppose is better than Bitchy Drunk or Angry Drunk or Will-sleep-with-anyone drunk.

After the comedy club (which was okay, some of the comics were better than others, the host was hilarious, and there was a really obnoxious group of drunken rowdy Pennsylvania hicks sitting up front that almost spoiled everything. And they said that they were from pennsylvania, so that's how I know) we wandered around through MILLIONS of tourists (and I know they were tourists. No one else refers to Manhattan as "New York City" while filming the video screens in time square on their camcorder. If they do, they're really really pathetic.) We looked in one of the places Laura found on citysearch, decided it wasn't what we wanted, and accidentally happened upon this place, which everyone really really liked. Some people were even making noise about going back there, which I think is a great idea. Terrific place. Warm, friendly, good food, good drinks, good service, roomy (we were in this little upstairs loft/balcony place, and we had it pretty much to ourselves).

It was great great fun. Tim and Carly actually managed to come, which was fantastic, because I miss them and never get to see them enough, and Theresa was there, and after not seeign her for like, 7 months I've seen her twice in one weekend and we've decided that since she and I work in roughly the same neighborhood, we should make it a point to get together on a regular basis. Erin [livejournal.com profile] rusticmuse was there as well, after enduring the trip from hell to get there. Bernard was the magical designated driver who drove us to and from the train, and Jeff was the day saver (we were delayed in waiting for poor Erin, he was the one who made sure that we didn't lose our reservation, or that I lost my mind worrying about us losing our reservation, and that I was able to walk through time square despite being my usually easily intoxicated self.) So the company was perfect and the fun was had by all. Good times.

I'll let [livejournal.com profile] quasisonic fill in the details. But she did say that she had a really really happy birthday, which is really ALL I cared about. :)
