...is what I feel like I had today. Total whirlwind.

Went to temp agency. Was offered job before I was properly settled into a seat with my counselor. It's temp, but long term (10 weeks?) and pays $13/hr. also:

I GET TO PLAY WITH SHOES!!

This assignment starts on the 22nd and runs into october, and is at Sam & Libby, on 58th & 5th in Manhattan. (Across the street from The Plaza Hotel, around the corner from Bergdorf's, and my train stop is near Carnegie Hall, and the Carnegie deli!) *squealing* The people (whom I met today) seem incredibly nice and seem to like me muchly. So it seems ideal, after speaking to them in depth about the position.

However...this might cause some difficulties with hermionesviolin coming to town on the 30th. Though she is still welcome, I can't play tour guide any longer. Working 9-5 M-F would put a cramp in that. But as I needed money, the job was the only answer, even a temporary one.

and oh, to be that close to soo many shoes.....

also, this both amused and disturbed me. Do I really talk that much? (and if so, how annoying am I?) :

Either day is fine as far as i know, but i'm still in the vague embryonic planning stages. I feel like Sharon and i need to conference call with everyone else who might be involved in my visit. :)

Movie? Is this part of the my visit plan or a Sharon-specific addendum?

the plan (at least, as far as i can see) is this: dinner and movie -- in either order -- one of those two nights. so it's up to you and sharon to decide on a movie, and i am picking where we eat. (right now i am leaning toward angelica kitchen, b/c the food there is So Good and also vegan.)

The 30th is the day i'm arriving -- the day of the concert. For some silly reason i was reading "the 30th and the 1st" as the 2 full days that i'll by in NYC. Anyway, that means it has to be the 1st.

I barely even know what movies are playing right now (nevermind what will be playing August 1st), so Sharon and i will have to consult.

Yay vegan restaurants, though.

you'll be briefed on the current movies closer to your arrival to NYC. All you really need is a newspaper.

Well, that'll be a-ok for Elizabeth, as veganism is something she's been aspiring to of late. I will have to clear this with Laura, who might have dinner elsewhere and meet us.

(she's carnivorous - she eats mostly red meat and very little vegetables)

It was anna's suggestion, actually. Might be a good opportunity for you to see some Indie film that isn't available in Norwood. ;)
