1. ...owned a restaurant, what kind of food would you serve? Ooh. Hm. Fusion food. I'm not sure what the fusion would be, but once I figured it out it would become synonymous with my restaurant, my chef would be famous, and I'd spawn legions of imitators.
2. ...owned a small store, what kind of merchandise would you sell? See entry under High Fidelity. But mine would also have a book/zine store as well, that only sold things I found interesting.
3. ...wrote a book, what genre would it be? Am writing one, planning another, both fiction. The one I'm writing is dark comedy. The one I'm planning is melancholic, quasi-romantic, and fairly arty. Also somewhere on the drawing board is a trilogy or series about a girl with extra-sensory powers that does all sorts of things that someone with those powers does and has adventures and battles villains and all that, but I need to do lots of work/research on it. She's lived in my head for so long I need to start plotting out her story already.
4. ...ran a school, what would you teach? It would be very small, and teach writing in a style that's neither stifling nor obnoxious. Genre writing would be encouraged, and the basics of different styles would only be taught so that people could use them or accept them at their leisure.
5. ...recorded an album, what kind of music would be on it? If someone tapped me on the head with a wand and gave me musical talent, I'd probably sound like a cross between Dido, Michelle Branch and Dusty Springfield, with a heavy influences by 1960s soul and girl-group pop/wall of sound. There would be some amount of rock, but it would all be very melodic.
