Taco Pronto

After hearing buzz from variant sources, I finally ventured over to Pampano Tacqueria (it's in the basement of the Crystal Pavilion, which is on 3rd avenue b/t 49th & 50th) for lunch today.
And was that EVER a good idea. That had to be the best Mexican food I've ever had. Especially the rice and beans - I had no idea that they could be tasty, instead of a drippy, soupy mess. The rice was fluffy, light, and even buttery. The beans were cooked just enough, and there was a tiny, almost indecipherable bit of cheese mixed in. So good. I had three tacos - one chicken and two of the Pork they had on special (marinated in their medium salsa), also exceptional. I'm all a flutter with happy food goodness. I highly recommend it if you get the chance to check it out (it's related to the restaurant Ma*Ya, if you've heard of that).
Also, I did something I almost never do. An entire week of sleep deprivation had left me bereft of any kind of mental or physical energy. So, I decided to get a coke. Which was a terrific idea - I feel rested instead of half-dead, and in a much better mood as a result.
I'm just a bit bouncy. And no, I wasn't just doing an interpretive desk-dance to this song. Not at all.
