They're taking a building down next to my office. For whatever reason, this needs to happen one brick at a time. They've been banging and drilling nonstop ALL DAY LONG, and it's starting to really, really get to me. ::twitch:: I grew up in New York, and I'm fairly accustomed to most city sounds, but this is above and beyond what's tolerable.
It's actually making it very difficult to concentrate. I mean, I know I can be slightly magpie-ish on a good day, but I actually want to concentrate, here. I want to get work done and draft and edit things. And I can't. Gah. And the worst thing is that this (as well as two cups of green tea) have made me really edgy today. And I shouldn't be edgy today, as most of the office is not in due to Yom Kippur. The phone has barely rung. It's been blissfully quiet, aside from the jackhammering.
It sounds like a jackhammer trying to drill through metal on a soundstage with an amplifier mic broadcast through really good headphones. Blah. So not okay, people!
