Froze my ass off walking the block from the train to my building this morning. *shivers* It was also cold on the train - it took me 4 stops to notice I hadn't taken my gloves off yet.

Aside from the arctic temperature, the daylight savings is killing me. I kept dozing off during the repeat of Buffy last night (although re-watching it has led me to wonder about a few things that this season might bring). Despite going to bed at 11, I woke up at 6 feeling like I went to bed at 4:30. Blah. SO tired. And I got here at 8:40, despite a 5 minute wait between 42nd and 57th stret.

I am starting to wonder about Halloween. I was supposed to go out, but am now wondering about whether or not I have the constitution to stay out late, drink, and wear a short skirt in 30-degree weather. (That's right, kids! It's going down to the 30's tomorrow night!!) And it's an extra hour plus or so each way to get there & back. *sigh* we'll see.

now, to stop daydreaming about my warm bed...

Free Mangia spread of pastries & fruit in the conference room today. I got a nice plateful. Lots of fruit, a very tiny (seriously, the same diameter as a quarter!) muffin, an almond croissant (thus revealing the mystery of why my boss at Sam & Libby ordered them every day-YUM!), and a BLUEBERRY SCONE!!!

okay, so maybe only [livejournal.com profile] quasisonic laughed at that. Perhaps [livejournal.com profile] hermionesviolin got it as well. I just thought it was really funny, as "Bad Girls" was on FX last night. And they're fired, because they've been skipping episodes and showing others out of order. But I voted for the f/x thanksgiving countdown, and you all should too. Just stop voting for "The Gift." Please! If you'd like to see Buffy die, vote for "Prophecy Girl" or something. (and why the hell is "Once More, With Feeling" NOT on the list? excuse me?

okay, I'm going to slowly retreat from fangirl land. I'm just SO bored.

*rocks back and forth*
stupid collating paper file I hate you I hate you I hate you and your tricky, shifty ways!!!
*lights it on fire*

UGHHH.. That, and I have to give up my computer while I eat lunch so someone can do actual work (the very idea!). Not that it matters - I've been on LJ all day and even managed to check all of my comics while they were all in a meeting. But still. *growl* miiiiinnnnee.....

yeah. I'm done. Stick a fork in me.

I'm beginning to wonder if publishing is for me after all. It's been not even a week, and I'm dying to get out of here. DYING. The place is crazy. The work is ridiculous, and the majority of the people I encounter are women between the ages of 38-48 who look, dress, act, walk & talk like they fell out of central casting's call for a modern day victorian schoolmarm. Seriously. If they all started singing 'getting to know you' I would NOT be surprised.

GET ME OUT OF HERE!!

(Catherine, my darling, I don't know how you deal with this kind of thing on a regular basis. Working in children's is enough to drive a person out of their gourd.)
