I was Hermione Granger at the Harry Potter character quiz @ Crazylicious.com

could they have picked a worse picture? Honestly!

and I should write a post with my $.02 regarding Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets. And I will...promise.

In other news, the calf of doom has yet to be defeated. Yesterday, I was woken up (exactly on time, if you can believe it) by a calf cramp that made me yelp, scream, and even cry a bit in pain. The bugger didn't go away for most of the day, and is still here. *sigh* I took a bath and everything! Oh well, might have to do that again. Pity. ;)

Surprises and miracles are a matter of course. Whether you're the cook, the host or the guest, special things seem to happen in the presence of food. Why talk when you could be singing?

"Life's a song you don't get to rehearse
and every single verse
can make it that much worse...
So give me something to sing about!
I need something to sing about!"

so today I send my resume and a rather nice (I thought) cover letter to HR about an admin asst position in sales. It was filled TODAY. grrr!

and though I'm really adoring Neverwhere, there's a teeny tiny voice inside of me yelling about how Gaiman stole the whole London Below concept from TV's Beauty and the Beast series (the one with Linda Hamilton). Only difference is that the one in the series was a utopia underneath New York, and the one in the novel is more of a dystopia, but I digress. It's still an amazing book, and it's taking real discipline for me to not just sit and read it all day. I want to. It's calling out to me. But that's what lunch is for. As is for getting my New York Public Library Card, to match my Brooklyn Public Library One. ;)

blah. Spent most of the day running around doing mailings (once my computer was allowed to access the correct drives. sheesh. You'd think it actually *was* rocket science.) Now I'm waiting for my supervisor to return so I can get her to sign the letters for said mailings, and I don't know, mail them? But, alas, tis not to be. Either she's in a meeting, left without telling anyone, hidden under her desk to take a nap, gone to the bathroom for the last half an hour or simply enabled a cloaking device, she's not to be found.

But I now have a brand new, beautiful, burgundy New York Public Library card! whee! :D (okay, so I'm a geek. this is news?)

However, I am tired, the calf is bitching at me again, and my neck hurts. I want to go home and convince myself not to research rare vascular diseases on the internet to feed my hypochondria. *sigh*

okay, going to see if she's there yet again.
