Yesterday morning...

*grumbles*

It's been over 24 hours, and the Santa cluster is still fucked up. ESPECIALLY my little corner of it. This is just like the fact that it took 7 million hours for the power company to restore power to my block after the blackout. Except, you know, the fact that there's electricity here. Le sigh.

I KNEW getting rid of invite codes was going to cause all sorts of problems like this. *shakes head in disgust*

And I have lots of neat things to post about. Like how Big Fish is one of the best movies I've seen in months. How I had an awesome time hanging around with Jeff, and the hilarity that ensued whilst reading the entry for his sign in the copy of How to Spot a Bastard by His Star Sign (a true classic of our time!) that I bought for [livejournal.com profile] angelicillusion as a Valium Time Day present.

There's also the fact that I saw Down with Love again and liked it SO much better the second time. Or, how she showed me this neat sushi place on E19th & Avenue U that was terrific and not extremely expensive.

Then there's the bit about having to shower and get ready to make the spinach pie I'm bringing to the writing group potluck today.

I also bought myself some lovely prezzies from Amazon. But I can't track the package.

I also can't post the great Lost in Translation icon I made for myself.

I may not even be able to post this entry.

And do you want to know why? It's because the ENTIRE INTERNET IS AGAINST ME!!

We wantses our preciouss back. Give it to us!! Tricksy servers! Nasty, tricksy stupid programmers took our preciouss away! Give it back!!

Santa cluster is finally finally out of read-only mode. Thank the Gods. The upside of that whole problem is that I learned that some of my staying-logged in problems were related to my cookie settings, so now that's been attended to.

Despite having a wonderful time at the writing group potluck yesterday, it appears I am now ill. I'm not pleased. Granted, having the flu shot has kept this from being far worse, but I still do not feel well, and am worried that the worst is ahead, and not yet over. I took some aspirin and ate some food and felt better for awhile, but now my throat hurts again and I think I'm going to lay down and watch something in a little while, either here or downstairs. Maybe the family will be interested in some Firefly. (All of the Firefly chatter on here has made me want to watch the show again). As long as I get to lay down, I really couldn't give a shit, as I honestly feel poorly. And this started last night at the WG potluck - I thought it was cat-related, but I was mistaken. Blah. Although I did get to use mini-mione with my collapsible keyboard, finally, and think I have had an interesting breakthrough with one of the characters that I wasn't expecting. I suppose that happends when you decide to start with Owen Wilson and watch the movie in your mind to see what he does. Still, I'm not sure how it's going, and I didn't finish the scene

Last night I got home, made myself a cup of tea and watched my tape of Sex & the City - another episode that was only 10 minutes long. (honestly!)
in case you haven't seen it. )
WHY is the show getting so good now that it's almost over? ::whine:: NOT FAIR!!

Also, as I mentioned in the last post, I adored Big Fish. It was so beautiful and affecting, and I couldn't get enough of the story. I do agree that Russell HammondBilly Crudup's character was the weak link (and is it just me, or does he do those mastercard commercials now?). The best parts (duh) were the ones with Ewan McGregor on his zany adventures. One of the 3 best movies (along with Return of the King and Master & Commander) that I've seen in months!! See it! It was wonderful.

And now I must go, for [livejournal.com profile] quasisonic is giving me the evil eye to get off of the computer.
