Well, set your vcrs, kids. That's because, this Thursday at 10pm EST, yours truly will be making her third national television appearance, this time on Comedy Central. First was Jeopardy, and then last year I made a brief appearance on Emeril Live! after my mom & I went to the taping (nothing big, just background).

I won't spoil the details as to why Graham Norton singled me out, but they'll be announcing my name (Sharon) and I'll be on camera for a few minutes, about a quarter of the way into the celebrity guest segment. Oh, and British friends need not fret, as the series has been picked up by BBC 3 (Graham said it was named after the number of people who watch it) and should be airing there shortly. Just be on the lookout for the ep with Seth Green and Matthew Lillard. Yes, [livejournal.com profile] dolores, I was approximately 10 feet away from Seth Green, but sadly, I could not catch him to put in a box to send to you, but I will tell you that he was hillariously funny, and seemed genuinely nice. He took the time to shake every sound and security person's hand, saying thanks for a great show, etc. He and Matt Lillard both got positively loaded on wine and were in rare form. The entire show was gobs of fun, and I'm sure they're going to edit out most of the naughty bits, but it's still worth watching. Graham is just as funny and nice as he is on tv, and a lot funnier when he doesn't have to watch himself. If you haven't seen the show already, this is a perfect opportunity to check him out.

Being on tv was disturbing. Not because I've never been on before. Not because it was fairly bizarre circumstances. No, not that at all. It was disturbing because I was set up. Certain people (*cough cough* [livejournal.com profile] quasisonic*cough cough*) knew in advance that I was going to be surprised on air, but made damn well sure that I did not know. Oh, but I will be avenged.

After a shower and a proper night's sleep, of course.

Intern seems to be more on her game today. Still, she does seem to throw into relief my more Office Space-y attitudes, so I'm trying to cover those up. But the true genius of that movie lies in how it applies to everyone in some fashion, imho. Anyway, my little rant about what constitutes intelligence had less specifically to do with her and more to do with others I encounter. For me, genius isn't just someone who comes up with a brilliant thesis or has a high IQ. MacGuyver was a genius, in my book.

aack. She's back, and it's on to drafting. *sigh*
