Today is the birthday of my oldest friend, whom some of you know as [livejournal.com profile] angelicillusion. We have been through so much together, so many phases of life, and I hope we go through many more together. I hate how we drift in and out of touch, but sometimes that just happends, I guess. This song will forever remain our theme, though. It's about men, it's about friendship, it's about a time in her car on a summer evening when some old loser in a busted-ass car tried to make a play for us, and I popped the cassette single of this song into her car's stereo. As it began to play, the light turned green and we sped away. And he got the message.

I know she's unfortunately spending another birthday either in or just out of the hospital, which she has done far too often, I'm afraid. Haven't spoken to her in a bit, miss her terribly. *sigh*

Well, if you're reading this, sweetie - get well soon, and I hope you got the flowers I sent.

In other news:

1. Am VERY busy today.

2. Thought I'd grab a snack before heading over to [livejournal.com profile] blergeatkitty's reading today. Anyone care to join me? (and The leaning (book) tower of Blerg is reaching critical mass. We really need to do something about that. )

3. Hobbits?!

4. Congrats to the Sox on their big victory. (See, Yankee fans can be gracious, and have been from what I've seen. So I don't want to hear one word from ANYONE about how obnoxious we are. Cuz we're not always. So neener.) Still, way to riot there, Boston - at least nobody died this time.

5. I am all dressed up today. Have gotten many compliments.

6. Certain departments are driving me craaaaaazy again. (what else is new).

7. Had lunch with the Subrights people again today. Twas fun, not so much when the conversation turned to vermin infestation. Am really contemplating learning how to crochet again.

8. I forget what 8 was for.

9. Please, will someone reccomend some Sci-fi books to me? We have to come up with 5 more! And most of the ones I pick get eliminated due to the fact that most everyone else has read them. So since you all are sci-fi literate, halp?

10. New Girl has not become New Mommy yet, and will be visiting us for a few days starting tomorrow (also to work). I am excited. :)

And that's it. Back to the salt mine.
