offbalance: (road trip)
Okay, so while a lazy, four-day weekend may not seem like very much in the grand scheme, a well-timed one can be the one and only thing keeping you out of a padded cell. I was asked by my bosses to not take any "significant time off" during the summer due to a whole host of dramas affecting those I work with, so the best I could do was enjoy the days I was given in the whole complicated summer hours schedule, as well as an extra here or there.

Something of a recap:

Days spent At Beach: 3
Days not spent at Beach: 1
Books finished: 3
Books Started: 1
Episodes of Feasting on Asphalt watched: 1
Episodes of Mad Med watched: 1
Hours of sleep: 445 (Seriously. I was practically comatose. Zzzz.)

In addition to all of this, I got to see [livejournal.com profile] angelicillusion on Saturday night. We saw No Reservations, grabbed some dinner at a diner, and had a spectacular time.

I don't know why it is that I've needed/wanted so much solo time on the weekends this summer. I guess I just needed it to recharge and slow down. I haven't felt this good in months, seriously. All of that time at the beach club has really just been doing wonders to make me feel so much better. Fresh air, sunshine, swimming, walks on the beach by myself and lots of time reading has been having a really fantastic affect on me, both mentally and physically. After my weekends, I feel recharged. The trick will be trying to find a way to do this after the club closes Labor Day weekend. (*sob* I can't even. So not fair. It never feels like enough time. Not ever.) *sigh*

So, I'm back to work in the morning. Joy. Or, as I like to think of it, 4 more days until I'm at the beach again.
