Okay, I'm drunk on two martinis, but I want to say:

hotel bars are better than the stupid clubs over here. My stubborn NY self thinks cover charges are for losers. And [livejournal.com profile] redesigner agrees, so I had 2 martinis int he hotel bar and that was great.

And I liked Beatles Love a LOT. this was another example of I wish [livejournal.com profile] blergeatkitty came bc she'd like it. They do all these subtle references tht make sense if you know beatle history and stuff.

Now I should take off my coontacts and go to sleep tomorrow is the karaoke and the star trek philharmonic thing. YAY!

Well, only mildly hungover, anyway.

As I said last night, I really liked Beatles Love - the first Cirque Show I really, honestly enjoyed. I went in with the lowest possible of expectations, but I had a blast. It's always nice to experience something that makes a band you like shiny and new again. I'd been off the Beatles for a couple of years for various reasons (overplay being paramount, along with some bad memories), but this show polished them up and made them seem new again. I highly recommend it if you have the opportunity.

We'd wanted to maybe see Cher, but the ticket prices were astronomical. Like, I wouldn't even see U2 for that much astronomical. *sigh* I think we made the right choice, though.

Also, yesterday was the day of a million brides. I don't know if it's just Vegas on a weekend, or if it was because yesterday was 8/8/08, but everywhere you looked, there was another bride. There was even a bride and groom that were at our showing of Love, which I thought was cute.

I also played some blackjack at a real table! Granted, I didn't walk away with any money, but I did decently, and played for awhile. And, I didn't embarrass myself at all. I forgot how much I enjoy that game.

I think now is time for my morning swim and to see what [livejournal.com profile] redesigner wants to do for breakfast.
