You're Texas!

You aren't really much of your own person, but everyone around
you wishes you'd go away, so you might as well be independent.  You're
sort of loud-mouthed and abrasive, but you do have a fair amount of power.  You
like big trucks, big cattle, and big oil rigs.  And sometimes you really
smell.  But it's not all bad, you're big enough to have some soft spots
somewhere in all that redneck madness.

Oh dear. I very much hope that I'm one of the aforementioned "soft spots" and not part of the "redneck madness!" But, as a Texas resident, I can say that, unfortunately, large parts of that description are unfortunately too true about Texas.

About any state, really. As cosmopolitan as NYC is, there are some parts of upstate New York that are as chock full of scary hicks as anywhere else.

There are some definitely cool things about Texas, I'm sure. Doesn't mean I'm going to forgive Andy Pettitt for defecting to the Houston Astros, but I know that there are some cool things in that state. (and cool people!)

Well, the description of Texas was somewhat less than complimentary, don't you think? I don't think Deepa appreciated it so much.
