I weep for the future.

Seriously. The world is doomed if this is what is being produced.

And I don't get what's with me today. Usually I'd like to think that I can handle the combination of mindless tasks and inane questions that make this job such a rollicking good time with a fair degree of aplomb and good humor, but today EVERYTHING has been getting on my nerves, and at the moment I'm at the end of my bloody tether. ::roars::

Even a read through of [livejournal.com profile] customers_suck failed to lighten my mood. And there were some real gems on there, too. It just reminds me of the crap I have to deal with, I guess, and didn't help.

There's this one Annoying Woman (AW) and her Assistant (AAW) who keep calling and calling and calling my boss about a particular memo or whathaveyou. Now, I can say without the least bit of exaggeration that Boss T is a BUSY man. There are days in which he can be on one call for several hours, during which his 2nd line will ring anywhere from every 30 minutes to every 5. If he is negotiating something important on another call, I usually can't shake him out of it just because someone thinks that they're God's gift. Now, AW has been making a nuisance of herself the last few days, and complained yesterday that my boss wasn't returning her voice mails all in regards to the same thing. She's been behaving like the kid in the backseat on a car trip that keeps asking, "Are we there yet?" and seems puzzled as to why that isn't making the journey go faster, all the while driving the adults and other passengers around him/her to infanticide.

I have sympathy for her assistant, though - who was being made to call every 0.68 seconds to ask "Are we there yet" for her boss. I think we may have finally gotten them what they wanted, but way to be a pain in my ass.

What would probably make me feel better would be the ability to go outside and let loose a giant scream of "FUUUCK!!!" exactly like Drew Barrymore let go in Donnie Darko.

To add injury to insult, it's SNOWING out. ::more cursing:: So, due to the weather, I'm going home after work rather than the gym. *sigh*

And I think I hurt my neck doing crunches on Sunday. I have to remember to do them with my hands crossed over my chest rather than behind my head, because I always wind up yanking myself around for speed in order to keep up with other people. Argh.

Still, there are good things! Oh, yes there are!

Huge, gigantic thanks are in order to the lovely [livejournal.com profile] pizanite for sending me my VERY OWN copy of Wings of Desire!! *hugs you* I let out a ginormous squee when I opened the package, and then had to spend 5 minutes explaining to my family what the movie was. Doesn't matter - it's mine mine all mine!! :D

And I hit up Lush in a BIG way (again) last night. I bought the Strawberry Boat scrub (it's from the biofresh line, so I have to keep it in the fridge), two more bath ballistics (one was a replacement for the Hot Java I used on Sunday) and a Hot Milk bath melt. And, most importantly of all, I finally finally finally have a new pot of Lip Service lip balm. It pleaed me.

But now it's only 1:30, I have a wee bit of lunch left before heading back to the slings and arrows of Coordinating Contracts and hang the "Open" sign on the door of the Inane Questions Bureau.

*sigh*

At least they pay me well for this...

I once, long ago, let out a "FUUUCK!!!" moan of annoyance, and Rachel made fun of me for it--mostly because I seemed to be channeling Keanu Reeves when I said it.

So, "FUUUCK!!!" (in my Keanu Reeves voice).

Well, I've never heard your voice, but I'll take your (and Rachel's) word on that. heh.

And speaking of hearing, I heard 'our song' (Easy by the Commodores) on th radio the other day! ;)

All right! Easy!

Now I've got to listen to Faith No More's version of it now.

Neat little trick is to grab hold of your shirt when you first set down to do the crunches. The trick is to not let go of your shirt at any point until you are finished. Saves your neck and it also challenges you, taking your mind off your burning abs. ;)

Not for nothing, but that's an incredibly good idea.

ooh - that is a good trick! Thanks! :) Where do you reccomend gripping the shirt, though? Behind the neck, over the shoulders, or somewhere else?

Funny ... I was saying "fuck you, fuck you, fuck you & you" all day long. I think I need a vacation ... wanna come with? I'm thinking some place warm and tropical minus anyone/thing that us annoys us ...

Oooh - sounds good to me. Anywhere tropical that's not currently experiencing a period of civil unrest. Puerto Rico is good, Hawaii is better...
