So, last night was the screening.

On one hand, it was kind of a clusterfuck. Long lines, odd planning, but there was swag and comfy chairs. And, my (assigned?!) seat wound up being right underneath the projector, my preferred orientation. (Yes, I'm like that.)

I was concerned about the absence of Bryan Singer. I was concerned by the addition of Brett Ratner. I was concerned about certain storyline related issues.

However, I was gratified to learn that this concern was not warranted. It was good. Oh, so very good. See it. It's worth your money. After the film is actually released I'll give more of my thoughts, but all I can say is that this film was probably my favorite of all the X films so far. Hell, it even received the [livejournal.com profile] leopard_lady seal of approval. And really, what more do you need? The story is good. The acting is very good. Halle Berry still should not have been Storm, but she's somewhat better now. And Ian McKellan p0wns all, as always.

So yes. See it! And let me know what your thoughts are!

Ian McKellen pwns life.

You know how those kids from South Park sing songs about how Brian Boitano goes around saving the world and such? That's Ian McKellen to me.

My favorite Ian MCkellen moment was in an interview I read.

Journalist: Aren't you afraid that by doing these action movies, it flies in the face of being a serious actor?

McKellen: My boy, let me assure you - their money is quite serious.
