The good:

1. Shins concert last night with [livejournal.com profile] teany, [livejournal.com profile] selftoken, [livejournal.com profile] missgyder and Allan was spectacular. Really. They played some of their new stuff, which is great (album due out early next year! whee!), and all of their old stuff that I wanted to hear.  We had an excellent vantage point, and McCarren Park Pool is a marvelous venue - similar in size to the Prospect Bandshell, but without all of the annoying grass and dirt.  My favorite part of the evening had to be when James Mercer FORGOT THE LYRICS to "New Slang."  He cursed, stopped the song, and apologized.  They did it again during the encore (remembering the words this time), but it was pretty funny.  I also think the version of "Gone for Good" they did last night was extra awesome, but they really have come up with a great set list.  Great show, truly.

2.  I also got a sneak peak at [livejournal.com profile] missgyder's new Williamsburg digs, and the place has a lot of really cool potential.  It's still being worked on, of course, but you can see what it could be.

3.  It's THURSDAY.  Which means that tomorrow is FRIDAY.

4. MY IPOD HAS SHIPPED ALREADY!!!  I'm praying it'll get here sooner than next weekend, but whatever.  I got a black 60 GB one, and it has "I am Sharon's Favorite Toy" engraved on the back.  So very exciting!

5. Allan is hooking me up with an assload of music on Monday.  Squee!

The Not Good:

1. The annoying faux-hipster teenies at the Shins show last night.   The annoying girl who wouldn't.get.off.her.phone and kept elbowing into our space.   The douchebag in the BLINK 182 t-shirt who kept yelling for "Girl on the Wing,"  and all the friends who accompanied these people to the show without beating them to death.  Also, the extremely tall people who insisted on standing in front of me and [livejournal.com profile] teany also need to die.  (But they left/moved, so it got somewhat better).

2.  In order to combat the aforementioned teenies (mainly Elbowing Phone Brat), Gyda and I decided we should jump around like crazy people during "Saint Simon."  And it worked!  We won!  But, my shoulder somehow got very, very fucked up by this.  Searing, blinding painfulness.  And it still hurts today.  Badly.  I took two aspirin when I first woke up, and have had one of those disposable heating pads on my neck since then as well (courtesy of [livejournal.com profile] quasisonic).  There is no comfortable position - lying down, standing, sitting - they all suck, so I'm at work.

3. My ipod shipped from CHINA.  And I didn't pay for the express shipping, so I'm guessing it's actually ON a slow boat from China.  ::Sulk::.   Although it's traveling fedex, so anything is possible, I guess.

1. remember you can wear that thing until 4pm (maybe a little less, like 3:30)

2.WTF CHINA?!

3.Fedex doesn't really use boats I think, so i'm sure in a few days it will touch down on the west coast, don't fret too bad... Unless its Fedex Ground (which would make NO sense) it CAN'T take that long.

4. BANANA PHONE.

I saw you two jumping around at one point. I mean, of course I did, I was part of your party, standing right behind you. However, I thought you were just having fun, I didn't know it was a tactic. Are you talking about another jumping incident that may have happened while I went for refreshment and comfort?

Nope! This was before you left, when you saw us jumping about. The genius part of this scheme is that to the casual observer, it looks like you're just enjoying the concert instead of engaging in a terse battle of wills.

All new iPods come from China--it's coming to you straight off the assembly line. And it isn't slow. Think about how much crap we import from China every day.

Yay for the new iPod!!

And the same thing happened to me & my friends at the VAST concert @ CBGB on Tuesday, and we did the same things you did (although my elbow isn't in any aftershock-like pain). So feel betetr.
