I actually screamed when they announced the winner. I was so, so worried that it was going to be Uli.

But it wasn't!! Jeffrey prevailed! And I'm so pleased. I loved his collection (with a few exceptions), but I'm very, very happy he came out of this okay. I was honestly kind of worried that he was going to get disqualified or something. Which may be silly, or not. I don't know.

Also, the bubble shorts getting cut was the best thing that could have happened to him - they were awful, the pants were much better, and a much more polished, sharper look.

Does anyone know when this spread will be in Elle? I can't wait to see it.

I did too! I figured the being over budget would keel him.

Yay for innovative over ugly prints!

I was worried about hm being over budget, too - but he got rid of those awful, awful wigs, and then he was fine.

Not only ugly prints, but how in hell does one wear a bra with 3/4 of Uli's stuff? I'm a D-Cup, it's not like I can strap a belt around my tits and just leave the house. Jeffrey at least took that into account.

So sad, but true story? When he cried in relief? I cried, too. And also, maybe, a little, when they announced him as winner. *cough*

Aww. I didn't actually cry, but there was massive, massive relief.

(Kind of like a playoff game, we're only up by one run, the bases are loaded, but whomever is pitching manages to strike out the last batter and get us out of the inning without blowing the lead - that kind of massive, massive relief).

I lost all respect for Laura in this episode, and after seeing what Michael put together, I was completely on Team Jeffrey.

I really felt that Laura was insecure about her own inadequacies. I mean, she couldn't grasp that maybe having his own line meant that, given more than a few hours to construct a garment, it would be impeccable. I don't think it was outside the realm - he knocked out good garments each week in less than a day, so it follows. But yes, you're obviously the choir. I also felt as though she wouldn't have told him what she told Tim had Uli and Michael not forced her.

I think Uli will be tremendously succesful in South Beach, and all respect due - she's good. Michael needs a mentor, and I wouldn't be at all surprised if, a year from now, he's working in Michael Kors' studio.

Jeffrey's work was so so good. He's got a unique perspective and.... Yeah, you know.

::sings with the choir::

I think that Laura had been completely convinced that because she had always been so perfectly prepared that she was going to win this in a walk (pardon the pun), but I think she got really worried when she saw Jeffrey's collection, because it was so damn good, and because he was basically done already. I agree that she didn't mean for it to spin so far out of control, though. (Did you catch her little sneer, the "I'd rather beat him on the runway, instead of the accountant's office."? She sounds like a cheerleader that got passed over for captain of the squad!)

Uli is good, and I could easily see her having a fantastic line of beach/party/cruise wear that will be big in Miami, the Caribbean, and possibly even LA. Michael does need a mentor - I could easily see him at Michael Kors (that would be a great fit), maybe even Kenneth Cole or Calvin Klein. I think he'd also be a good fit at Sean John or Baby Phat, too - they match his aesthetic, but would probably help him find a way to mature it and make it more appealing to a wider audience.

I have Top Chef saved on my DVR, and I can't wait to watch it.

Laura really went way too far last night. And clearly felt bad the moment Tim announced that there was no evidence of wrong doing. And I think she was, at least, genuinely surprised that Jeffrey cried. I think she lost sight of the fact that he's a person.

Exactly.

Top Chef = CRACK. OMG.

I think the moment where Jeffrey broke down and cried was when Laura was not only reminded of his humanity, but her own. She was so crazed, and so focused, about winning that she really spun out of control. I think that whole business brought her back down to Earth. She seemed decidedly less smug and full of herself after that happened.

I CANNOT WAIT TO SEE IT.

Tonight is the night of 1,000 hours of televised viewing, you realize.

I think you're right. And I was glad when she basically apologized.

IT IS SO AWESOME. And keep your eyes on Sam, he doesn't do a lot, but JESUS.
