For the first time in my life, I actually and sincerely like a Styx song.

Eric Kripke, I hold you entirely responsible. If the ending of this week's Supernatural (which featured this song) hadn't been so awesome, I wouldn't like it so much. Leave it to you to find something that kicks ass from a band that usually blows ass. (The reason I hate Styx is the same reason I break into hives at the mention of King Crimson, Pink Floyd and pretty much all prog rock - I was forced to listen to it by someone with awful fucking taste, who I thankfully no longer associate with. It's nice to see a band can sometimes transcend bad memories).

Forget "Carry On, My Wayward Son." Move over, "Back in Black." Sorry, Metallica.

If Supernatural had a theme song, it would be "Renegade." (Well, this season, anyway.) I'm just saying. I think this should be open for debate, and feel free to do so.

If you follow the sentence, I was referencing specific songs, and THEN the band Metallica. If you pay attention to the sentences, it's clear. Also? Please have some respect for the fact that I might actually fucking know a thing or two about music from this era, seeing as I spent a large portion of my early life listening to local-area rock stations enough to know one of Kansas's favorite songs from one of AC/DC's most famous songs (hello, the first album they did after Bon Scott died, duh), from fucking Metallica.

I'm actually insulted that you felt the need to explain this to me. You obviously don't think I'm very smart, do you?

I would explain the debates I've had and heard about the importance of music to the show, specifically the kind of music and specific era that they're sticking to, but as you don't watch the show, I'm not going to bother.

Get the hell out! I haven't been able to watch Supernatural at all this season (my loss ;_;), and I just came to the conclusion that Renegade is the greatest thing Styx has ever done. ^_^ Awesome to see it getting props. And now I have to get caught up.

Really and truly your loss. Get on that!!! There are many ways to acquire the season thus far, and I highly reccommend tracking it down. I'm really loving the direction it's taking, the character development, and most of all, the writing. (Which is more than I can say for some of the things I watch on a regular basis).

Renegade is made of awesome, though.
