Met up with [livejournal.com profile] antheia last night to hit Macy's. Mostly for the Clinique bonus, but also because I hadn't seen her in far, far too long. We had a lovely time, then I went home, had a successful first attempt with tofu stir fry, and watched NCIS and half of House (fell asleep on the 2nd half, rah rah for DVR).

Today my hair is a giant ball of frizzy. [livejournal.com profile] alcestis mentioned that a new haircut will make me care more about how my hair looks on a daily basis, and that's been true so far, and it's alarming just how deeply I suck at blow drying and styling. However, until it's not frigid in the mornings any longer, I am so completely breaking up with morning showers. It's just too cold and too early to throw being wet in the mix. I think I'm going to experiment with my curling iron, though - maybe THAT will get my ends to do what they did in the salon. I swear to the heavens, I don't understand how you can have roughly the same products and tools and yet not be able to come even within shouting distance of the blowout you get at the salon. (No wonder they make so much money on that sort of thing). Suddenly those hairdryers that look like round brushes aren't so completely crazy.

Buffy #2 came out today. It's already been bought, read, and adored. It was also almost worth getting soaked by a car for, too. Almost. (Thankfully it was mostly from the waist down. But I am happy I had emergency pants at work to change into, otherwise I would have been really unhappy).

In other news, I may not have to do any more overtime. While I'm always pleased at the prospect of extra cash, here's to getting out normal time!!

I think some of the disparity stems from the fact that it's much easier to do stuff to other people's hair when you have full access to it, as opposed to holding up your arms and struggling with a gazillion tools.

On that note, I have a similar hair dryer to this and it works wonders.

This is the one I have. I really like it, it's powerful and seems to work well. I think my issue might be the brush and product I'm using. Your dryer both fascinates and frightens me - I could easily see my klutzy self yanking out my hair with that.

But you're right - it's so much easier to work on hair that's not yours. So much easier.

Actually, this is pretty much what I have. A little less scary; and cheaper.

There is a wonderful doo-hickey that's a combo hairdryer and curling iron. They are verrah naice.

If I can remember where mine is stashed, I'll happily lend for a test-dry(ve).

I'm actually pretty scared of the dryer/iron combo. But that may be because I hate the sound of sizzling hair on a curling iron. Reminds me of Little Women. ;)

Well, it's actually more the *shape* of a curling iron, but instead of singing hot metal, it's air vents blowing hot air like a blow dryer.
