Dance of Joy!

After two extremely frustrating failed attempts, I finally got Music Rescue to work last night. The result is a nicely stuffed Itunes. It worked just fine after a little finagling (and having to hit they "yes, I know this is a free trial" button ever couple hundred songs or so. But it woooorked. Thanks again to
blergeatkitty for the rec.
And I upgraded to Itunes 8, which I really like. I'm going to play with the Genius a bit tonight, just out of curiosity. But so far, this is a good program.
The extremely crazy thing is that I only seem to have about 30 gigs of music loaded. Which does make sense, since my 60GB ipod is about three-quarters full, and I had 10 gigs of video. Much of it probably not traveling on with me, though I will be taking Blackpool (which I still have to finish watching), 4 episodes of Burn Notice (ditto), and some episodes of ST:DS9. Pretty much the entire video folder, now that I think about it, just not most of the TV shows. But I'm going to look all of this over and have myself a little party where I upload a whole bunch of things that I just never did before. My entire Ipod is now almost the size of my entire hard drive, so I think I'm going to need to figure out that external hard drive situation soon. Still, so many choices. So. many.
Otherwise, work is work, didn't get enough sleep again, and I wish it were lunchtime.
Ooh, and I get to have dinner with
dotfic tonight! Too bad I wasted so much time watching Heroes last night that I didn't have time to re-watch SPN, the way I wanted to before I saw her. (And I do mean wasted. What a steaming pile of crap that was. Seriously.) HIMYM set up the new season nicely, I can't wait to see where they go with this.
I think that Barney will be better off when he stops listening to Lily's definitions of what his relationship with Robin should be. He loves her, he wants to be with her, but not in the framework of a standard relationship. Both he and Robin want to be together, but free at the same time - Robin wants to not be trapped behind a picket fence, and Barney will always have a taste for bimbos. That doesn't mean that they can't be happy together on their own terms. I love that the show is potentially exploring this. Granted, that kind of relationship is not for me AT ALL, but as the song says, it takes different strokes to move the world.
And now, for some more productivity. Lunchtime I get to wrangle with the Apple Store to exchange a case. Yay.

Date: 2008-09-23 05:02 pm (UTC)I sort of get where she was coming from. In college, I had this roommate who was OBSESSED with The Goonies. Couldn't believe I hadn't seen it, wouldn't shut up about it until I watched it. When I finally did, it had been built up beyond human belief, and I ended up kind of hating it. (Shrieky kids for 2 hours. Yay.)
I also know plenty of people who write off 99% of sci fi or fantasy as "stupid and weird" due to lack of exposure to it, understanding of it, or hatred of things that aren't obvious (you mean like, it's not just about aliens, it's about racism and stufF? I don't get it!). So pack those two things together, and voila.

2) No mention of Umbrella's or Lily's Dog Art
3) In the future, both of Ted's kids are brunette. And not once have we heard of 'your sister' or seen her.
As for SW haters, I've seen them. Some of them hate because they can't like more than one franchise or opus at the same time. Others because they are just sick, sick sick.
