Extra fume-y

So there's this pungent odor coming out of the vents in the office. It smells like a combination of paint thinner and floor wax, and gets more pungent by the passing minute. A call to facilities yielded some apologies and an assurance that they're "working on it," but it certainly doesn't help me NOW.

Speaking of things that stink - am I the only one who was really disappointed by last night's HIMYM? It was just kind of dumb.

Also, as those of you who read my Twitter know, my wireless router seems to have died of a heart attack last night. After a frustrating 25 minutes of troubleshooting with Time Warner, I have an appointment for Saturday. Because they won't let you just swap a router at one of their stores, they have to send a tech. *eyeroll* Whatever. I may actually have to seek out some free or free-with-purchase wifi in the neighborhood until this gets sorted.

Blech.

I'm being fumigated by baby-powder-scented bathroom spray. I HATE THE PEOPLE WHO OVERUSE THE BATHROOM SPRAY. Especially the powder scent. I keep throwing it out, and it keeps coming back. GRAR.

I really hope they ARE fixing your fume situation, though. Sounds immensely more health-threatening than room spray.

UGH. I hate that, too - and am grateful we have no BR spray.

Fumes are gone! And I am fed, which makes this entire headache thing a non-issue. :)

I thought HIMYM was cute, actually. It's nice not to have an episode filled with melodrama, although I guess it's pretty weird that Stella wasn't on it...

I don't know - I just thought they could have done better with what they had to work with. It was a cute idea, I liked what they had to say about banks pushing out other small businesses, but I thought the burger thing was a better B-plot in another episode than an A-plot. It just didn't grab me. *shrug*

Fume-y Himmy

Yeah. HIMYM left me a little cold.

1) What the hell was Regis doing there? Awkward celebrity cameos are so 3rd season?

2) Manhattan Avenue? Like anyone one of the characters ( except possibly Robin doing a story) ever went further north than 96th street?

3) The acting, felt, well cold. No body seemed to want to be there. And the food/sex jokes felt, well... necrophillic.

I think this was a left over script they burned so they could give the writers a chance on how to write off Stellah *and* convincingly bring in the Mother incase this season is the last.

I have my own wireless router--we connected it to the cable modem. The little blue Linksys boxes seem to live forever (not to mention their ubiquity). Is that a possibility?
