Die, you stupid cold!! Argh!! My throat still hurts, and is really against swallowing food for some reason. Ugh. I've taken aspirin and am hoping for the best, as this is wholly unpleasant. *sigh*

Great Big Sea tonight with [livejournal.com profile] quasisonic - and to clarify this morning, it's not that I didn't want to check out a new band and see a great venue, it's that I'm sick and cranky, and want to be in tip top form for Evan's party tomorrow night, and am worried I'm going to be another wreck, again. *sigh* Still, am going to call my doctor tomorrow to see if he wants to hold off my allergy shot a week because of this, and if so, I'll crawl back into my beddy bed and sleep until I can't anymore.

I also want a cheeseburger, but don't think that it's a good idea, what with the whole swallowing problem. *sigh*

I'm definitely going to the Agent Provocateur closeout sale at Henri Bendel at lunch today. (thanks to [livejournal.com profile] blergeatkitty for the tip!) I'm not sure what I will buy, if anything, but it's sure as hell worth a look.

There's a writing group meeting next wednesday. Hopefully, I will be there, especially since it's in Brooklyn and all. *crosses fingers* Although I have some weird memory that I'm supposed to do something on the 24th. Am I?

Anyway, to work for me. I have to draft contracts like it's my job. Hey, wait a second....

1. ...owned a restaurant, what kind of food would you serve? Ooh. Hm. Fusion food. I'm not sure what the fusion would be, but once I figured it out it would become synonymous with my restaurant, my chef would be famous, and I'd spawn legions of imitators.

2. ...owned a small store, what kind of merchandise would you sell? See entry under High Fidelity. But mine would also have a book/zine store as well, that only sold things I found interesting.

3. ...wrote a book, what genre would it be? Am writing one, planning another, both fiction. The one I'm writing is dark comedy. The one I'm planning is melancholic, quasi-romantic, and fairly arty. Also somewhere on the drawing board is a trilogy or series about a girl with extra-sensory powers that does all sorts of things that someone with those powers does and has adventures and battles villains and all that, but I need to do lots of work/research on it. She's lived in my head for so long I need to start plotting out her story already.

4. ...ran a school, what would you teach? It would be very small, and teach writing in a style that's neither stifling nor obnoxious. Genre writing would be encouraged, and the basics of different styles would only be taught so that people could use them or accept them at their leisure.

5. ...recorded an album, what kind of music would be on it? If someone tapped me on the head with a wand and gave me musical talent, I'd probably sound like a cross between Dido, Michelle Branch and Dusty Springfield, with a heavy influences by 1960s soul and girl-group pop/wall of sound. There would be some amount of rock, but it would all be very melodic.

I love Printon 56. Seriously. It looks and is priced like your standard lunch place (soup, sandwiches, salads, etc) but everything there always tastes so wonderful.

Plus, they have every kind of British chocolate there is. I shit you not. They even have British versions of American candy bars. If my throat wasn't such a train wreck I would have bought seven one today. Still, the very hot chicken & dumplings soup I had managed to cover up the throat pain for a wee bit.

One of these days I'm going to go back there at happy hour - supposedly between 5-7pm there's drink specials AND free food. That's enough for me! (plus, there's a seating area with a full bar next to the carry-out section, which is very nice).

I'm just a contract-drafting machine today (watchagetdown, watchagetdown...) . Seriously, I got a lot done. So I'm pleased.

Now all I need to do is make it through the next several hours without collapsing, and I'll be great, even.

I'm daydreaming about sleeping. This can't be good. :/

No. You are not allowed to buy a package for the Tribeca film festival. $300 is TOO MUCH. I don't care if it looks cool. It's $300!!! And don't even CONTEMPLATE the $1200 all-access pass. That's insane.
